My latest, in Caran d'Ache colored pencils on black Stonehenge paper: ACEO Poe Raven is actually titled Upon the Bust of Pallas and is actual illustration. Everyone knows the poem. That line fascinated me from the time I was a kid, and today I managed to draw both the raven and the bust of Pallas entirely from imagination.
I went under the colors with the white pencil drawing highlights and reserving the blacks, which was a real switch from how I usually draw! Since I cut lots of blank black ACEOs from a quarter sheet of black Stonehenge, I'll be doing more of these. I might do some in more detail, but I like this one exactly as it is -- loose and powerful.
