Equal Opportunity

I don't know how often
brideoftheatom  checks the LJ postings, but I thought of her on reading this BBC news item: "High Heels May Improve Your Sex Life" (and not just in the "you'll look hot" category).

I do go through the topic of Hot Ladies (TM ) quite frequently in the metaphorical, allegorical, electronic pages of this journal, so in the interests of Equal Opportunity Objectification, I'd present my pick for Incredibly Attractive Man, though this excludes British or Scottish-born-American Time Travelers.

It's the combination of this geek look with the 50's/60's G-Man look, which I adore.

In the process of googling Mr. Glass for an image, I came across this article (which is not about high heels). The columnist seems not to like all that much an admirer of Mr. Glass' talents. In fact, in a bit of HIGHLY elitist bullshit, the columnist, Virginia Heffernan, contradicts the central precept of the Glass's radio program, This American Life, that everyone has a story. She goes to bring up some COMPLETE tripe with the statement: Anyone who has ever ridden a bus or been to a dinner party knows that many, many people have no stories.

Fuck you, Heffernan (he said on the Internet). Everyone has a story. EVERYONE. HAS. A. STORY. They're not all long stories, they're not all good stories, most of them may require some embellishment, but something has happened to each and every one of us. People are good and bad, kind and cruel, nice and naughty. One thing no person is is boring. They might be boring to talk to, sure, but no life, taken in its whole, is devoid of meaning and interest. End of story, end of rant.
