So this morning I popped my knee out of its socket. Does this happen to everyone? I twist my knee in some way and then it's like one of my hamstrings is pinched and can't move. The pain is excruciating. I feel like a suspension bridge about to give way. The moments between when I try to move my leg, though, are tinged with this euphoria, like my brain is releasing endorphins. It's in these moments I get a touch of the chuckles. I can't stop laughing. Eventually I got the thing popped back into joint again, but kept laughing at myself for another fifteen minutes.
It's the feast day of St. Luke's the Evangelist today. He's the Patron Saint of bachelors, glassworkers, lace makers, doctors, artists, and goldsmiths.
