Hitting Soft

One of the hardest lessons I had to learn in the many hard lessons of boxing, was how to hit soft. Young fighters always try to throw every punch as hard as they can. Not to mention using up everything you've got just as the fight/training session is starting.

Are you still doing any BJJ/grappling?

Yeah, learning how to hold and run are other essential techniques that even some very good pros have trouble with (Hearns-Leonard 1 for example). I reminded how gassed I was in my third Gloves fight, this when I'd trained throw over a hundred punches a minute on the heavy bag and run two minute winds-prints. But then, most street fights last about five seconds.

I'm not training any martial arts now, simply because I don't have free access. However, I'm playing a hell of a lot of soccer.
