We were in Berlin, this week. I love that city. More than I ever loved a city. I loved Tampa too. Especially the way downtown rises out of the trees (In the view from the park near the river.) Berlin however is a city of magic for me. It's always something new and at the same time something old and weary and weighted down with it's own history but trying not to show it. Yeah I like Berlin.
On the way there we wrote what I'm sure will be a hit. I had a baseline that came to me while we were on the Ammersee and I couldn't write it down because I did't read music, I'm still working on that. I went upstairs I found an old guitar and plucked out the melody on the one remaining strings. Then I wrote down the fret numbers and tucked the sheet away.
I have had two really good songs come to me through baselines. I like it. I think I'm going to buy a base.
