First and foremost, Gant is the stage name. The fact that I'm a mixture of Spanish, Italian, Irish, English and a little bit of Scottish probably contributes to the fact that I don't look like a Gonzalez like I've been told again and again. Nowadays, most people know me by the Robert Gant, as Benjamin Bruckner-Novotny in the Showtime hit series " ( Read more... )

Hello, Robert, it's good to see you here. It's pretty amazing to come out so publicly and hugely, isn't it? You've reminded me of one of my favorite quotations:

"America wasn't founded so we could all be better. America was founded so we could all be anything we damn well pleased." -- P.J. O'Rourke

As far as who to add... it depends, of course, on what you're looking for. I don't socialize much myself; I fully admit I'm far too wrapped up in a new relationship. I even forgot which day I was supposed to be back to work. I imagine you're probably familiar with the rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It's co-creators, Stephen Trask and John Cameron Mitchell are here, as well as actor Michael Pitt. Most people around here are pretty friendly. If you're a fan of someon, there's nothing wrong with just commenting to them and saying something like, "Hi, I'm new, I'm a fan of your work and I've added you." Most people don't notice when someone adds them, so I think it's nice to comment.

Call me Bobby please. I believe we ran into each other enough times to get less formal. It's really amazing. Thank you for the quote. I like it a lot.

It's completely understandable to be wrapped up if it's new. I hope you're enjoying yourself. And thank you for the advice, I'll start seeking people out.

Enjoying myself -- and him -- immensely, thank you. Except for the part where I have to be on the other side of the pond for 10 days!

You're welcome, Ted. Being in London isn't that bad, right? I hear that it's a bit cold there but so is it here in Toronto.

It's always an honor to make your day, Stephen. Of course I put your name first. It's polite. It's like saying "Stephen and I" rather than "me and Stephen." Since John and I are one person these days.
