Things are pretty nice here. I'm sitting at Starbucks (I got desperate for internet, gimme a break) "borrowing" free wi-fi from a coffeeshop across the street that's closed for the day, while soaking up sun and staring at palm trees. I have heard through the grapevine that Colorado is a bit dreary, so I'm pleased as punch with my new locale. At the same time, it gets frickin' hot here, so y'all can make fun of me soon when I'm complaining about the pit stains in my shirts.
Jenn and I had an amazing week together, and I'm happy to say that (if all continues to go as it has been) she will be moving out here in about 6 months. The decision has come rather quickly, but the next six months will give us plenty of time to evaluate and decide if it's as good an idea as we really think it is. So far, I think I'm about the luckiest guy on the planet, but I'll let you know if that changes anytime soon. Incidentally, she thinks I'm pretty alright too.
With the help of some long-distance phone research assistants, I found free wireless all over Sacto, so I should be a little better at keeping in touch now. I'm running out of battery though (I've been emailing all morning for work) and I've got to go buy a pink shirt for Monday (apparently all of the senior management is wearing pink on Monday for some gimmick thing) so I'll wrap this up.
Oh yeah, I've got a 1br apartment that's pretty cool and it's right in mid-town which is an awesome area. I saw my office on Thursday. It's a bit on the small side and there's no oak desk (I'm gonna work on that) but it's a corner office looking down 11 floors on Sacramento so I'll take it. Guess what I get to do in a week and a half? I'm gonna spend $2M on a PR contract! First, I'm going to ask if they'll bring the money into my office and spread it around on the floor so I can roll in it. If they won't do that, I'll fire them. First I suppose I should figure out who exactly they are.
