Grammatical pet peeve
I truly can not stand hypercorrection of the "X and I" compound. Children have it pounded into their brains in school to avoid "John and me went to the store" that they still use the nominative 1st person singular pronoun in an objective structure: "Alex threw the ball to John and I."
Cut it out, people! Use the correct fucking case for your pronouns!!!! How difficult is it to remember to use "I" when the compound is a subject, and to use "me" elsewhere? You don't have problems when the "I" or "me" is by itself.
