Pain
Instead of using an ordinary needle-like lancet in the finger to draw blood for the glucose meter, my doctor's office uses a lancet with a blade on the side of the finger. I assume they use this to ensure a good flow of blood, since the needle lancets don't always allow enough blood to well up. However, it always takes about 2 days for the pain from this cut to heal. And I keep forgetting to have them take it out of the ring finger or pinky so that my damned index finger doesn't hurt like a mofo for the next couple days.
Ouch.
