Roberta Fred & Ginger take a back seat to Randolph Scott and Irene Dunne. Mediocre story. Dunne's piercing singing voice is nearly unintelliglble. Was Europe really that teeming with deposed Russian nobility? The gowns, however, were STUNNING! I think the 30s styles are my favorite. The draping, the curve-hugging, the yards of lush fabrics all reeking of class.
Follies in Concert The backstage parts, seeing the actors prepare for the concert was great. The concert itself, sort of so-so. Maybe it's because the music just didn't capture me, because the performances were well done. I especially liked Elaine Stritch doing "Broadway Baby" and Carol Burnett singing "I'm Still Here".
