Just a quick bike update, I’ve gotten the panels painted and all the stickers have come in, but I’m finding that they won’t stick to the rougher finish that I put in the paint. -_-
It’s been a rather disappointing setback back in project. I may have to go with Ryan’s idea of the “bat bike” I’m thinking that we might get vinyl outlines of the decals made and then paint them onto the panels directly.
There is just a little shine to them; this is caused by harder in the paint, that black will not be coming off. :)
Here are the stickers, I don't know what I'll stick them too now :'(
On the side I think I found a set of used rotors that I can trade the extra left fork for them, this would be awesome. Worst case he wants $100 for them, if they are in good shape more than worth the price.
I’ll know more once Scott and I have a chance to break down the forks and get a manifest of what is reusable and what I have to purchase.
The rear axle is in; I’m hoping to start getting the back, back together this weekend. We still need to have the rear tire mounted up and balanced, not to mention the need for all the bearings to get pressed in ^^;.
God this has been a long project, but I’m looking forward to seeing some of the new parts on the bike, it will show accomplishment. :)
Parts still on order:
Left side adjustment bolt
Machine guns
Parts left to do:
Order parts for forks
Find small oil leak, replace (and order) cracked parts
Replace chain and install rear end.
Replace oil filter by removing exhaust (Sport bikes are small…)
Install front end
Wreck bike again
