This reads like rehashing every drop of anti-government rhetoric i've had to hear for the past few years. Please rephrase in the future.

That said, i think we've gotten ourselves in way over our heads. It's a good idea, what we're doing, and i think we have the right intentions, if not the right way of doing things. We're bogged down in a situation we can't really win, since we don't have anyone to hit. We're stuck in a country full of religious extremists, and all our occupying is doing is drawing more and more of them to the area. We're guarding, for lack of a better term, a people whose opinion of us changes almost like the wind. And with this newly brought to light situations in the prisons....well, we're kinda fucked (side note: the american soldiers need to be immediately court-marshaled and put on trial here in the States. That kind of action is unacceptable.).

Honestly, i think it shows the type of enemy we're fighting, that they would behead a civilian. And really, i have zero respect for that and think we'd be justified in doing something almost as drastic to them. But then, i'm a fan of letting people know that they fucked up. I'm also a big fan of isolationism, so i do agree we should pull out and just let everyone get into their own fucked up situations without our presence. That'll learn em.

Wow, rude AND vague.

I'm surprised you're not a famous writer, what with your fabulous use of the word "fucked" over and over and over.

yes. over and over. exactly 3 times. i'm stunned that anyone can make any sense of this, seeing as how fucked is every other word. my god. i will revise this and turn it in for a grade.

and well, there's no need to get specific, is there? you know what i'm talking about. there's really only general concepts to be spoken of.

even so.....niiice retort. a winner is you.

sorry about the lashing out chris but i had a feeling one of my 3 conservative friends would respond. also being that your into the punk subculture, whether you like it or not, you are going to be subject to anti-governement rhetoric, like all those times i remember going to bill's house and all those american pride skinheads spouted off all the same pro government rhetoric to me. that said i cant really disagree with the rest of what you said, except of course for the part about doing something equally fucked up to them, that would just make the situation worse. oh and the part about opinion changing like the wind, i dont think it does, they always disliked us, at least back to the forming of israel. and being in a country of religious extremists, i feel that way when im in missouri, i used to feel that way when i lived in va, well in king and queen county. im gonna start my own country one day, dammit.

oh, it's no sweat. I expect it. I'm kinda right-thinking a lot of the time, so hanging out with the kids you and i hang out with, i get into a lot of these arguments. But every time i do, i hear the exact same sentence that your friend wrote above me. So it occurs to me that someone somewhere is supplying these guys with a piece of paper that says "READ FROM ME IF YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT [INSERT POLITICAL TOPIC HERE]".

eh.

yeah, its easy to do that from either side of the aisle, my friend and i were talking last night about bias in the media, and its basically impossible to find information free of bias, except for the weather report(and its only a matter of time before that too becomes political.) conservatives say that cnn is liberal biased, so they have fox news which is supposed to be fair and balanced. as a liberal, i wouldnt call the media liberal biased (but then it depends on what person in the media we're talking about, be it michael moore or shawn hannity), it all depends on your views how you percieve the media.

you are absolutely correct. i generally avoid talking about politics, because it's almost impossible to get any straight information. everyone has their own agenda. i try to get as much as possible and make my own decisions based on that. but it's rough. between what i get from NPR, TV and the internet, i tend to do OK, though. but i still don't trust numbers.

lately ive been istening to this guy on air america radio, named ed schultz, i think hes awesome, he sounds just like limbaugh but only to the left. i used to try to catch the jim lehrer newshour on pbs, but my family generally dominates the tv around that hour so its hard to watch it.
