El Tour De Warped
Craziness can only describe the day of July 31, 2004. It wasnt what I was expecting at all. Drove up to Pompano with Andrew, Shane, Banner, Lindz, and Danny to experience Warped Tour '04. We managed to cut about 1000 people in line and were in the gates by 11:05.
We start off with Motion City soundtrack by meeting Chris, Elyse, Jordan, and Jeremy. We were right in front of them and it was great. The speakers were 5ft in front of us so I lost my hearing after the first band. Got to see first hand the CRU in full action with their "plain white tees." After their last song, the drummer threw his stick into the crowd and Banner caught it. Later he got it signed by them.
Went into Sugar Cult and got my first real concert experience. We were Haitian packed with people and the music started to pump. All of a sudden, it started pouring. At first, I wanted to get out but I soon realized that this is what concerts were made for. Everyone was screaming at the top of their lungs, bouncing up and down, mosh-pitting, and crowd surfing. They had the best performance of the entire evening.
All day, we were all dehydrated and had to keep drinking whatever we could find. Met up with Dulce and friends and hung out with them all day. By night time, the three big bands were lined up to play. Story of the Year was amazing beyond belief. The lead singer even sang as he was being carried by the crowd. Then we moved over to Yellowcard who was great too. Too many young girls in the crowd so they got trampled for the most part. Finishing the night was an amazing set by New Found Glory. Everyone was so tired from being in the sun but there was more than enough energy to go around. We finished off the night with a mosh pit with only me, jeremy, dru, danny, and shane.
What I learned from this amazing concert.
1 - Anti-Flag talks more shit against the govt than anyone I have ever met.
2 - Drink as much liquid (no alcohol) as you can
3 - The #1 crowd surfers were hott girls wearing short skirts and even a few with no underwear at all...
4 - This trip wouldnt have been half as fun without the CRU
5 - Guys in the mosh pit arent bad people at all
6 - Bring extra socks (thanx Danny)
7 - Hit up Dennys with whatever clothes you have intact after the show
8 - Girls take over the Mens room when their lines are too long (dumb bitches)
9 - Music truly brings people together
10 - I will be back next year...
