Letter to Dan Savage
This is the column that inspired this email. Last week's column irked me a bit too but I figured it was a one-time thing:
Hi Dan,
While I am just as furious as the next person about our stupid, bigoted anti-gay marriage laws, I am starting to get really disgruntled with the way you are answering your letters. You say you won't help out straight, married cocksuckers now? How hypocritical is that? The supreme court denies marriage to gay couples, so you deny advice to straight men. Also, chances are any man who reads your column is pro gay marriage. Homophobes don't read Savage Love. I always enjoy when you update your readers on current events with a blurb at the bottom of your column, but please don't mix it in with your advice. Your advice is why we all read and write in, not your politics.
