We just had a fire behind our work! Of course, me being strategically placed wayyy far away in the back of the scene shop, I was the last to know. Thanks a ton, co-workers. It's nice to know that if my actual building were burning down, you'd make that extra effort to make sure I didn't become a crispy charcoal Robbie-corpse...

I ran out to see a pretty large blaze engulfing the fence/woodpile behind our dumpster, and tried to be helpful by stretching our garden hose so one of our custodians could keep the flames at bay. Fortunately, my relatively-competent boss had the foresight to move tanks of propane away from the blaze before the flames rach them. Richard, FTW! That could've ended up badly.
Seven fire extenguishers later, the fire department arrived to sufficiently oversaturate the area with water, and came to the conclusion that the fire started on our side of the fence, most likely due to an errant cigarette butt pitched by one of the brilliant shining stars that work at the restaurant on-site. Well done, guys!
And here I thought today was going to be just another boring day at work...
