I had a thought last night: wouldn't it be hilarious if someone crossed over the Avengers with Archer? Like, if S.H.I.E.L.D. decided to hire another security company for some small job because the Avengers were busy fighting giant leaping frogs or something, and they go with ISIS because they sound good on paper. And the ISIS team ends up helping the Avengers through some wacky shenanigans.
Here's what would happen if they made that mistake:
Stark and Archer would bicker constantly over who's better at everything, including who has the better butler (Tony wins because hello, Jarvis, AI beats an old-timey English butler any day, Sterling), and Lana threatens to shoot them every five minutes. She eventually shoots Archer in the foot, but only because Tony is smart enough to fly away first. He does hit on her after the mission, but she shoots him down; not literally for once.
Malory sexually harasses Captain America every chance she gets. (It's the whole reason she agreed to take this job.) Steve gets Coulson involved and Coulson and Malory get snippy with each other while Steve hides out in various S.H.I.E.L.D. safe houses so Malory can't find him.
after the mission, Pam and Thor would get drunk and gossipy together. By the end of the evening, everyone at ISIS and the Avengers knows each other's business. It makes for an awkward morning after.
Natasha and Cheryl would get along really well, which is utterly terrifying to everyone from ISIS who knows what Cheryl is like. No one wants to eavesdrop on their conversations. Ever.
Cyril spends all evening crying on Barton's shoulder over losing Lana because he cheated on her with Cheryl. Clint gets very drunk to be able to deal with Cyril and generally has a terrible time, especially the next morning when he has an ISIS-sized hangover.
Lana ends up hanging out with Bruce Banner and learning about meditation. Bruce is of the opinion that she shouldn't be shooting people who get on her nerves and she counters that he hasn't spent enough time with Archer or he'd know better. Bruce points out that he works with Tony Stark and Lana concedes the point.
after reading the report, Fury decides to never again use ISIS for their missions, no matter how small they are. But he does program Malory Archer's number into his cell because he's been paying attention to her career since she was a legendary field agent and she's definitely his kind of woman.
I will never be able to write this, but it's fun to think about.
So last week, I offered to make misspamela a fanmix for the fandom of her choice for Galentine's Day. She asked for a Due South mix, which delighted me, and I went overboard with the music because a) I love Fraser/RayK and DS in general, and b) it was my first real fandom where I participated instead of just lurking and I met amazing people that I am still friends with today. Basically, it is my forever fandom, so here is a kind of epic fanmix celebrating Mounties, Arctic wolves, and the Chicago detectives who love them both.
Many grateful kisses to charliehey for listening to this ahead of time and telling me that it was good and told the story I wanted to tell. Sendspace, graphics included, and this is pretty much the most Canadian fanmix I've ever made. I hope it is enjoyable. ♥
