And I Still Barely Felt Anything!

Jan 08, 2012 08:54

You ever have those celebrity sex dreams where it's with someone completely unexpected (and possibly traumatizing), and in the back of your head, you know the whole thing is really messed up and actually criminal, but your id's running around with its pants down, screaming "Woo-hoo!" at the top of its lungs?

I had one of those and was really glad to wake up this morning. Ugh. Thankfully, omelettes with goat cheese and red pepper flakes, and a big mug of Earl Grey tea helped me forget. Let's never do that again, okay, brain?

So I made a fanmix for Sandman Slim. I did this for two reasons: 1) I really enjoyed the characters and the world-building (the divine hierarchy alone was enough to delight me beyond all measure, but then there was everything else) and the actual story itself, and 2) so I could cram as many different kinds of metal songs as possible into this mix, from old-school to European to ambient. Look, it's really not my fault that Dio and Danzig wrote so many songs that fit in with a story about Hellions and angels in Los Angeles, okay? I'll take full responsibility for the Hank III song, though. That one was just for fun.

This mix is also kind of a casting for the main characters as I see them. I'm sure people who have read the book have other ideas for who should play these people, so feel free to make casting posts for them.

Sendspace, graphics included, and in case I didn't say it before, massive spoilers for the book, especially in the titles. Many Benderiffic thanks to Jen for listening to this first and giving me amazingly constructive feedback. ♥♥♥!

I am watching Merlin and the War of the Dragons and omg, it's so terrible! The acting is overwrought, the story is bordering on stupid, and the special effects are only slightly more realistic than something out of an '80s metal video. It's like Harold Zoid directed it! It's a trainwreck of creativity and I can't seem to stop watching it. :O
