Come On, He's One Guy, And He's French.

Things wot I love right at this minute:

  • Traveler - surprisingly, not a show about traveller's awesomeness, but a really interesting, suspense-filled show about three friends (two framed for a terrorist act, and one who isn't what he seems) on the lam from the law and the vast conspiracy that seems to involve just about everyone they know. This week's episode had me almost falling off the edge of my seat from the suspense and yelling at the TV when it ended where it did. I just know I'm gonna bite my nails off waiting for next week's episode. Goddamn it.

  • Burn Notice - starring Jeffrey Donovan as a sarcastic, cool, messed-up McGuyver-type spy who gets shut out from his agency, doesn't know why, and sets out to find out why he's got a burn notice out on him. Sharon Gless stars as his emotionally manipulative, hypochondriac, possibly crazy but loving mother who drives him out of his mind with forty phone calls a day, and Gabrielle Anwar is his violence-loving, bank-robbing, ex-girlfriend who has the most awesome Irish accent besides Shane Brolly. Also, Bruce Campbell co-stars as a washed-out, alcoholic ex-spy who helps him out when he's not leering at pretty young things and downing beers and mai-tais.

I watched the first episode last night, and. um. you all need to watch it and LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DO. If USA doesn't pull a Fox and cancel it after four episodes, you'll find that it's funny, smart, sometimes mean, sometimes sweet, and insanely quotable. I hope the second episode is as hysterical as the first one.

  • annlarimer's Changing Rooms, a Nicholas/Danny story that is practically perfect in every way. No, really, the whole bit about the couch had me in tears, I was laughing so hard. Go read and leave her feedback so that she continues to do this.

  • watching Ocean's 12 for Vincent Cassel. Honestly, one of the most beautiful men that I've ever seen. He and Monica Bellucci can never divorce or I will cry.

  • Seán Cullen in drag.

  • two-hour naps in the afternoon after nine hours of sleep the night before.

  • three-day weekends and four-day work weeks.

  • peppercorn goat cheese on toast, buttered eggs, and a strong cup of coffee that you brewed yourself.

  • having a cat sleeping peacefully on your lap every time you sit down to watch TV.

  • and finally, the most perfect song for Those Kinds of Days: Sons of Butcher - Fuck The Shit. A little over a minute of pure brilliance. This is the song that made me a fan of the band, if you must know.

Well, at least I'm not bored this summer. Huzzah for finding things to do during hiatus that won't drive me to wank.
  • fic rec, unofficial gip, (un)biased tv show reviews, my life is random and complete
