Hello, Fall

Sep 26, 2008 08:50

It's definitely Fall in Blacksburg, my first one since 2006!!  I have very few long sleeve options, and no winter coats.  It's also difficult for me to go up home because I work Fridays as well as Sundays.  I'm trying to edge binge drinking out of my life.  I'm at the point where I feel like it just hinders me and ruins the entire next day.   I dont really sleep when I drink, and that bothers me.  I have my first day with 0 plans/work on Saturday!  I wanted to go hiking but it's been raining here a lot, so theres probably no point.

We went to Bart's and Jordan's last night because they were having a "party."  Party apparently meant beer pong, the office and some sort of gin bucket.  I had a beer, played pong, won 2 games with Nick, took a nap, drank half of a beer, called up the Hooptie and went home to bed.

I have little to no money right now until I get paid.  It doesnt matter too much, I'm set for the weekend, Jess bought me Dos Equis for driving her to the grocery store.  I am running out of coffee and creamer, but I guess I can live.

Oh yeah, I've been hooked on Fall goods.  Catie Joe and I went to Christiansburg the other day and I got a Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks.  It was DELICIOUS.  I have Vanilla Chai tea at my apartment, and I've been experimenting to recreate the same taste.  My next culinary attempt I think will be pure de calabazas, it was something we ate frequently in Argentina, and it is dank.  I made mashed potatoes for the first time ever (simple, I know) and I got to use our actual masher.  I had made acorn squash the other day, and I think I might buy another one whenever I get enough money.

I found a blog written by a woman in Buenos Aires writing about her experiences there.  It makes me stomach hurt.  I need to travel.
