On the sky, and the beauty of

From as early as I can remember, the sky has enthralled me, every day back to when I first could walk and talk. It is a colossal, dynamic canvas, ever in motion. It truly stretches as far as the eye can see, ever so slowly moving, changing the position and shape of hues, colors and shades. Some days it is lit by the sun in her full glory, others dark and deep like a well, and still others with the clouds in the shape of streams, scales, mountains, discs, the sea- the sun may line them with light of silver, gold, pearl, or may simply be hidden by them.
Rain comes from it, also with it's own variations, and when the clouds part, the sun may reveal a true marvel; the rainbow. All colors in an arc that can only be seen with the light of the sun and water in the air. Three things we need for life come together to create a rainbow, and I find it rather.....poetic. Dawn and dusk are found in the sky, and the horizon, and are the times when the sky takes on the colors of gold and copper.
The night sky is a wonder, with the moon and stars behind the clouds. It's true majesty is only seen when we do not use lights of our own to make the night more like day. And what a majesty it is- the light of the moon and stars casting a brilliant blue sheen on the land, glorious yet ever so calm.
All things paint the sky- animals, plants, the sun, the moon, the seasonal shifts, the wind. I cannot help but find it beautiful.
