So basically we are all human and that isn't something we should have to remind each other of. Yet at times I think we forget. How easy is it to become so wrapped up in your self, your life and your own doings that you forget those around you? How easy is it to forget that they have feelings and bleed just as easy as you do?
- Et tu Brute'?
I have spoke of Greed...
.......I have written of Lust
I have displayed Wrath...
And now I find I should speak of the one abomination that combines the three. some say the deadliest of all sins...
Envy
I prefer to call it by it's sister name Jealousy. I've always held the same old adage. "Jealousy is a wasted emotion." Jealousy brings pain to all parties involved. Jealousy is something I've always been able to control. Something that from an exterior view could make me seem cold or heartless. Being able to push off such a strong emotion is no easy task I assure you but is well worth it.
Two friends came to me yesterday because they had been hurt by others. I often wonder how someone can revel in the fact that they have pained or exploited another. There are terrible minds out there, there are villians and most assuradly evil. One of them was hurt by another awards set. I think it's ignorant to assume that there is no malicious intent involved in the voting and nominating where unflattering categories are listed. When you think about it consider this. If you see a certian person's name that you dislike in a category that is rude or perverse you are going to vote for them on it. And it may not be that you wish them ill, but perhaps your friend is in the same catagory and you you want to displace the votes. It's human nature, it's a protective instict...and there are those who would like to bring others down to their self pitying level. Jealousy is a discharging and foolish. Even if they claim it to be in jest. It can still feel like a knife stabbing you in the back when you assume that your friends view you with such low regard that they feel need to insult you. As I said to another friend who was upset during the Rawr's "there is nothing Rawr about an insult." However, I've gotten to the point where it doesn't really matter to me. People will hold opinions of me (be they good or bad) no matter what I do or say. I often delight in the simple fact that, although they assume to know me, they know me not. All that I seem to be is not all that I am. On the exterior is what I want you to see....the rest is beautiful and well guarded. I just want those of you to know that you should take comfort in knowing who your real friends are. And even though words can hurt you, if you allow it....they do not make you who you are inside.
In the light we all cast shadows. Some of us go through life never really knowing why it follows or never really paying close attention to it. Others embrace it and allow it to pervade their senses
