Maybe the money doesn't, but the time it frees up can matter a lot since he'll be able to support his wife better and take the time to process these things for himself as well.

But yeah, sorry to hear things are going poorly. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope for the best possible outcome.

I feel for your grandfather, but I am happy for your mom.

Prednison (prednisolon) is utter crap. I used to take that stuff every day as well and you need to slowly wean yourself off of it even if you're as 'low' as 5mg per day. :/

I hope that now that they know what it is, they can give her something more direct in its effectiveness instead of cortico-steroids.

Did you read the wiki-link on CSS? She has to start taking it again :(

Only just. It still sucks :/ But what I mostly meant with the 'happy' is that there is a name to what she has.
I wasn't happy when they told me what I had, but I was at least glad that they finally pinned a name to it.

Still, I wish you all all the best...

*hugs* Wow.. that's a lot to take in. I hope your grandparents will be all right, eventually. That's the hardest decision ever for anyone...

In a way, it's good news that they finally figured out what your mother has. Now she can be properly treated, right? Prednison is pretty heavy stuff, but the prospect of treatment that actually works is a good thing.
Prednison is very addictive physically, by the way - if you take it for longer that two or three weeks (according to the leaflet I got from the doctor for my allergy), your body stops producing its own normal levels of corticosteroids. So when you stop taking Prednison, your body suddenly doesn't produce nearly enough corticosteroids and you get serious withdrawal symptoms. But that is something your mother should've been informed of before she ever started taking Prednison... if nobody told her about the withdrawal and all the other side-effects, that's pretty bad form from the doctors. :|

My "Mom" has been on Prednisone for years and before it was around other steroids. Until she started to take turmeric daily
along with it did she over come her problems. She`s 83 and walks two miles a day.
