i fell in dance on thursday, april 27th in lyrical doing a single stag. my ankle gave out and my knee hyper extended it to the right and left. it took awhile to get my mri and i got it on may 26th. the mri said i tore my acl & sprained another ligament in my leg. the only thing that let me walk was that my cartilage was still intact. i found out this news while on i was on the way back form mexico mission in a van full of friends. they told me what they knew about torn acls & tried to cheer me up and stuff. my surgery was schedueled the day after i got home.
i had my acl replacement surgery on wednesday
im at home for 10 bigfat days completely imobile
im all drugged up
cant walk for at least 1 week
cant jump skip or run for 3 months
physical therapy for 2-3 months
cant dance for 6 months
cant dance without a brace for 1 year
but hey, eventually.
that's whats been up. ive had people visiting me though:)
sarah jess & brenna came over yesterday afternoon and we colored & talked & ate mike n ikes & they brought me candy and a balloon boquette :)
then ali & deb came over and i got a balloon and gorgeous roses and a card :)
then today court sarah and jess came over again and we watched aquamarine :)
im hooked up to 2 machines. one of them is this wrap that goes around my knee with a hose attatched and its connected to a cooler full of ice water that circulates freeezing water through the wrap. the other one my leg lays on and it bends and straightens my knee over and over again. every day i increase the range of motion by 10 degrees. im up to 50.
my thigh muscle has completely shut down. i have to reteach it to work. like from square one. like a baby. when i want to stand up to try to do anything i have to lift my leg with my arms.
i fell once. this sucks.
until my surgery my summer has been amazing though!
i went on mexico mission and was really amazing. it was a lifechanging experience.
i went to peter piper pizza with rude lauren ali nathan bryn and steven
then we went to stevens to swim and nick came
i went to the san antonio meeting pool party and had lots of fun too
i also went to the mall
and a bunch of movies
i went to sarah n jess's house for a water balloon fight with ali sarah jess brenna dj & nick
then i slept over at ali's with court too
and im looking forward to....
going to the point, even though i cant swim or maybe even walk, next week. might get a wheelchair:)
going to the national youth gathering with my church in san antonio. again, maybe having a wheelchair
nationals dance cruise. not dancing on it though. just going and watching friends
mexico or maybe san diego with ali and court
i wish everyone lived in my meighborhood and could come over whenever they wanted:) that'd be good
