Is it wrong that I still eat like a student?

That I find a pot of buttery rice flavoured with salt, pepper and garlic powder a great dinner? That the accompanying beverage is a tall glass of vanilla ice cream splashed with chocolate syrup and topped off with milk?

I eat like I always wished I could when I was a kid. Only my favourite dishes are ever served in the post-parental dietary regime: pizza, chicken, pasta, corn, burgers and the occaisional gut-busting trip to a buffet table.

That's probably why I'm overweight... but fortunately I've reatained my childlike sense of not giving a damn because food is awesome.

Formal was this last Sunday, and I gotta say it was lots of fun. I mean, yeah, it was the Underground. And yeah they didn't serve drinks during dinner. And yeah this and that, and plenty of things that went wrong. But in the end, I got dressed up nice and got hammered with some people I love. And that's always a good day in my book.

The hangover the next day, however, nearly killed me.
Brook and I dragged ourselves to work only an hour late, and toughed it out all day. When I got home, I promptly fell asleep till about 10:30. Then I stayed up till around 2am putting up the pictures, which can be found: here, in case you haven't seen them already.

So, this week I actually get all my documents together and start the process of applying for jobs overseas. I'm still a bit scared and feeling like dragging my feet since I'm loving life exactly where I am right now, but the time has come. Luckily, I've got Brook's birthday on Friday to give me a party to reward myself with when I actually get off my ass and get it done. *crosses fingers*

Other fun this weekend included going home to Brampton for my mom's birthday on Saturday, eating at Red Lobster, playing God of War on my parent's big screen TV and driving my brother to work in Mississauga because my mom was late getting back from church.

And of course, Sin City on Friday night.

Good lord, that movie was everything I hoped for and more.
Such a perfect translation of Miller's work to the screen. The only flaws are that breathless noir dialogue sometimes doesn't sound as good in real life as it does on the page. But other than that, a work of sheer genius. One of the best flicks of the year in my book, and unquestionably the best comic book movie made so far. And I'm willing to bet no one will top it.
