Well, this has been a nice fucked up week.
As ever, have had to deal with unpleasantness at work and other peoples problems. Story of my life. Worst part is, usually a Tuesday cheers me up cos I take it all out at combat and can cope for week - only this week I came home from combat to much unpleasantness.
I'm not going to recount everyting here, but suffice it to say, stuff happened AFTER all of the below which made my day a grumpy one. But on to what DID happen at combat that I WILL talk about
Met Dan, Li, Becky and Cat at the station - Becki was a few mins late and as my dad was going out, this meant we had to get a taxi. Got to combat, had a nice chat with Becki and Li... then Dan and Cat vanished. Upon talking to Li, I find out this is because they decide they dont have the £4 each for a lesson - basically Cat wont lend Dan the mula. After paying train fare and everything to get there and KNOWING it was £4 each... strange couple.
So now there's just the three of us. Oh well.
The warm up was good - lots of bouncing about and I forced myself to endure the stitch I got and did the whole thing. Wewt! Diane was there as well as a new lady i hadnt met - I got paired off with teh new girl for pad work and she did well with her punches... but then Grant had us doing roundhouse and as has been pointed out already.. I have a strong kick on me. The poor new girl got battered XD. I offered to swap with Diane, so I ended up working with Becki for the rest of the leg moves and self defence.
We learnt some cool new stuff as it happened. Like double wrist grabs - and the now patented 'wench slap', which basically involves backhanding people XD
Cool down hurt - Smurf led for that, and Grant let us know he wont be there next week, but Smurf will be taking the lesson. Sounds like fun. I also volunteered to find out if we could use the nursery crash mats for our lessons so we can do more sparring.
Headed to the pub after - was just me, Li, Becki and Smurf. Talked a load of old toot, finally asked Smurf WHY he's called Smurf. I was certain it was a surname... and I was right. It's short for Smirthwaite - from primary school he's ALWAYS been Smurf. Account settled.
Came home by midnight, got told my paperwork needed tweaking, but didnt have time to do it cos of unpleasantness online when I got back. Spent an hour or whatever sorting that out, went to bed. Had cold and horrible day today.
*nods*
I feel strangely depressed. Ah well.
