*runs into bedroom and quickly changes, relieved she still has the costume she wore two years ago. It's actually more of a fancy ball gown, but she'd heard about the party before, and knew it was a masquerade ball.*

There's a soft "humming", barely audible, and a glowing spot appears in midair over the cleared space, expanding
to roughly five feet across and high. A woman steps through, smiling

I owe Agent Scully a favor or two, so that works well for

*surprised at the woman's sudden appearance, but not completely shocked. She's seen stranger things*

Thank you. So... what do I have to do?

Rhiannon takes out a small silver disk, wincing slightly as it
touches her bare fingers, and holds it out.
"Hold this and walk through, and it'll take you to the club. Remember
the spot where you came through, return there when you're ready to
go home, and you'll see the portal open for you." Pauses. "You can
bring someone back with you, if you've a mind to, but make sure
you have a firm grip on their hand or arm as you cross."

Rachel takes the disk carefully and looks it over. Seems simple and harmless enough.

"Um... where I'm going... it's after dark there, right?"

[bound_in_light]

She nods. "It'll bring you to a sheltered spot, in
any event, but yes. We don't set the portals to open
outdoors, usually. This one--" *half closes eyes, seems to
look through the portal* "you'll find yourself just inside
the gates."

[roan_muse]

"Okay, thanks." She grips the disk more tightly and peers at the portal. She's never done anything like this before but hey - what the heck? Might as well try it. It's been a long time since she's gone to a party.

With a final smile at the woman, she steps through.
