Since everyone has been asking me my favorite place and I can never answer, I've decided to just collate and post the Best of every place I went to. So to close out the year and this trip, here is the Best of Series.
I'm starting with the Americas.
Best of Peru
1. Surviving a hike up to 4200 metres and camping for the first time
2. Fulfilling my dream of seeing Machu Picchu
3. Being able to speak Spanish!!!
4. The food prepared by our chef Patricio on the hike
5. The cathedral at cuzco and the last supper painting with the matching guinea pig
6. Llamas!!!
7. Discovering that I can do more physically than I thought I could
8. Meeting random people and making new friends
9. Coca Tea! Coca Chocolate! Coca Everything!
10. Randomly hearing the black eyed peas singing in filipino on a cd in a peruvian van
11. Singing to 80s music while drinking gato negro in said peruvian van
12. Being in a tour group where I was not the eldest. or the youngest. and being with people my age!
13. The lake, the tour, the hike.
14. The fresh air!

Best of Virginia/DC/NC
1. Seeing Janjill again after ten million years
2. Eating filipino food at a filo resto
3. Not having to think because Janjill is super oc and super prepared (e.g. having snacks and water prepped on my side of the car before every road trip started)
4. Discovering Dayquil and Nyquil!!!
5. Conversations, bad singing and funny kuwentos all the way from NC to VA
6. Shopping! Shopping! Shopping!
7. Barbecuing in the middle of the "wilderness" in a cabin in NC
8. The army depot store
9. Always going to walmart. Always eating at chain restaurants. Aaaah american fastfood.
10. Discovering american stereotypes exist!

Best of New York
1. Lower East Side - the neighborhood
2. Being able to walk everywhere
3. Discovering the subway is not as dodgy as they show it in the movies!
4. Catching up with old friends: realising that we’ve known each other for most of our lives, since we were like, 8 or something.
5. American Apparel. (I survived in these clothes every plane ride)
6. Food, food and more food - staying with an ex food critic means you know where to eat
7. Jarvis!!! The cutest dog evarrr
8. The whole vibe of the city, New York is the place to be
9. How everyone just has random conversations with strangers
10. Every New Yorker says Fuck in every other sentence. I so fit in.
11. The feeling of being in a place where everything and anything can happen - there’s so much history and possibility
12. Ma.Do.Na. Ma.Do.Na. - Madonna, Madison Square Garden. It doesn’t matter that it was the bloody last row. Sitting next to two drunk gay dominicans, it was a great experience!
13. Broadway!
14. The Lost Cara Experience - you had to have been there. Its funny now but at the time I couldn’t get over how she was just so lost
15. completely enjoying New York with the minimal tourist experience - being a real traveller and immersing myself in the culture
16. Having people stop and ask me for directions meaning that I looked like a New Yorker!
17. Staying with a friend that meant that liked to sleep in meant that I could just roll out of bed and kind of…watch cable! (Rachel Zoe, Project Runway, Girls Next Door, you name it, we saw it! Thanks Lia!)
18. Seeing random celebrities or shooting locations
