Title: drabble from the "Home From War" series
Pairing: Angelo/Jubilee, Jono/Paige
Summary: A few days after Everett uses Jubilee's powers against her in a training session, the team heads to a summer faire, but Angelo and Jubilee don't feel quite up to staying.

*BEAMS* Post-OZT angst, especially for those two is so easy to write - especially since I have the need to take it back from the shittastic way it was presented to us through Marvel. *le sigh* I have a mission. *lol* But yeah, those two, they were so affected by it, it's so easy to have them bond over it. He (despite Everett's wish dream) is the only one who thought of her at all during that time apart. She's the only person I can see understanding why he needed to be back in California at that time. They really are alike.

Anyway, no, I haven't written that part yet. It's a big scene that I've actually worked out some in my head. Emma's wanting them to get back into the swing of things and proposes some new training exercises. They fight each other, and everything goes well until Everett, still weird about the whole Monet thing, Synches up with Jubilee's powers (despite her powers not being able to actually hurt her physically) since he knows how to use them better, and she flips out. Her defenses system kicks in and her powers just about destroy the danger room (in the renovations, Emma decided to have one put in for extra practice - that's Em for you). I wanna draw her the way she freaks out because she goes all glowy and her pafs become more lethal (I have them combining to create explosive shields, explosive earth shakers, massive balls of... well, explosions! She thought her powers over while in Bastions, just in case she got a chance, after torture, to destroy everything. She ran first though. *lol*)

During it, he realizes his mistake and says he thought she would be okay with it since he used to do it all the time. We find out that she never liked the fact that he did that, because her powers are all she has and they make her unique - and there hers, not his to use. She even tells him that he never asked her if he could use them, he just steals them from her and even uses them better than her. She tells him that no body likes when he does it, they're just too polite to tell him. This was something I actually liked about one tiny part in the Faeber stint part of the comics, when Jonothan saw Everett using his powers better than he did and I believe he said he hated when he did that, like he was showing off.

Omg, sorry, I'm rambling, but it's a great scene in my head. She just goes '*FUME!* You did not just use my own powers against me!' I think her time with Bastion would have made her realize that she's going to have to learn how to use her powers to the full potential or she won't be able to protect herself or her friends if that sort of thing happens again. She has the ability, I've heard, to pretty much be a nuclear bomb - I'm going to try and use that to it's full potential. *lol* I mean come on, she can obliterate buildings and come out with singed clothes and a bad hairdo, whoever says her powers are weak needs to fuck off.
