Cynthia was walking around Vermillion City, out for the usual stroll in a new region. Many people seemed to stare at her, but only because of her extremely long hair. She wanted to bring Garchomp out so she can enjoy the nice sea breeze as well, but the last thing she needed was more attention.
She decided to go and catch the SS Anne back to Sinnoh, but realized the next ship left in late afternoon... She still had hours to kill. Nonetheless, she got her ticket, walking out of the port... when she saw a man with a red afro.
Aaron had swung into Vermilion City early that morning, hoping to get a quick ride back to Sinnoh. No such luck; the boat was to take off in the evening. Well, no matter. He'd find something else to do for the morning, maybe skip rocks or take a swim or go argue at the Pokemon Fanclub about Bug-types or--
Or hang out with his colleagues. That collection of hairstyles had to be them, after all.
"Hey, Boss-lady! Flint!" he called, running over. "What's up? You guys going back to Sinnoh too?"
"I see that you're enjoying the sun. Me? The league too stuffy and dark-we need windows-and it was only Bertha and Lucian in the building, ignoring me with their smart talk, so I came over to Kanto. You?"
She noticed that another voice was calling them, and turned around, to find another member of the League. ...Oh god, we need to do something about these hairstyles. She thought.
"Aaron! Pretty much, but the ship isn't leaving for a while. What brings you to this place?"
"We came over for the Ping intro thing, and Erika was nice enough to have a tea party. I figured on going back from here, since this is the quickest way."
He hadn't expected to run into anyone he knew before leaving, but having it happen brightened his spirits somewhat. Still, he'd be glad to get back home. He grinned, but without his usual fervor. "So what're we gonna do 'til then?"
"Oh, the party. Yeah, I was... I don't know where I was when that happened. I pretty much don't have one of those yet. I got the invitation, but I never went."
Cynthia was surprised to meet her league mates here, and considering that they were the loudest members, they'd be up to something interesting. "I don't know, actually. I've been planning to go eat something soon though."
"You don't have a gif?!" Aaron said in surprise, fishing his PNG out of his pocket. "They're really cool, even though I'm not really sure how it works!" He turned it upside down, trying once again to find the power button.
His ears pricked at the mention of food, however, and his face lit up. "Can we come with you, then?"
Flint watched as his friend fiddled with the little machine, grinning and holding back a chuckle. He needed a how-to on the gadget, for sure. Reaching out, Flint pushed the button on the side, and the PNG pinged to life.
"Where are we headed?" he asked, obviously assuming Cynthia wouldn't refuse their query.
"Huh, that is so weird. I'm sure it'll be better than using a cellphone, so I'm not complaining." Cynthia smiled at her fellow elite members trying to turn on the device... was it a Ping or a gif?
"I don't know... I don't come here often, so I don't know any small restaurants or anything... But if we find one, I'll treat." Cynthia was in a generous mood today, and also doubted that Flint or Aaron had any money on them.
"Maybe there's a place further from the docks," Flint offered, totally willing to eat on Cynthia's buck. He jerked a thumb over his shoulder, grinning and looking once again like he was posing heroically. "Onward!"
Aaron, excited, was quick to follow on the ridiculous pose notion. He struck an equally heroic stance equipped with a noble expression, then yelped as he almost dropped the PNG.
Aaron froze in his tracks, one arm and one leg up in the air. He swiveled around on his grounded foot, then giggled embarrassedly, scratching his cheek. "I...was just testing you guys!"
He beamed at Flint, however, when he called him bro, and raced to catch up.

"Hey Flint!"
She recognized that mess of hair anywhere.

The mention of not paying made his grin even bigger. Aaron could be a cheapo when he wanted.
"I'm sure there's on around somewhere!" he beamed. "And thank you!"

The champion was already steps ahead of Flint, turning back when she heard Flint say something.
"...What are you doing? Get over here! Well, it's fine if you guys don't want any..."

"Oh... right. Bro, it's this way!" he called over his shoulder at Aaron.

Cynthia continued walking across the streets, wondering if there were any restaurants.
"...So, do you guys see any place to eat?"
