[May and Brendan had finally made it to Saffron City.

Only for May to have realized she'd lost her PokéNav somewhere on the ship. Well, that was totally fine, seeing as it was supposedly going to be replaced with the PNG today, except that it also meant they had no way of contacting Green. So after a fruitless check of some of the stores Green maybe sort of could have been frequenting, and a peek in That One Famous Restaurant that had perhaps simply been ill-timed, they'd given up and decided to just go to Silph Co., as it was about time for the party anyway, and they were also supposed to meet up with Gallade.

So here was May, meandering down the street attached to Brendan's arm as if it was the only thing holding her up (which it probably was), and mumbling dramatically how she really needed food and this city was way bigger than she remembered and also where was Green. But she brightens at the sight of the towering building, disentangling from Brendan and squinting up at it with renewed energy.]

Oh, we're here! Do you think they'd have any snacks out yet? Maybe they need some taste-testers for the dinner tonight?

[Brendan's luck had been just as bad as May's--as soon as they'd realized her PokéNav and Green were gone, Brendan had discovered he hadn't charged his own properly the night before, and it died on them before they could even type in Green's number.

And on top of that, May was hungry and feeling particularly whiny. He bore it with minimal complaint, however, and supported most of her weight as they walked through the large city he'd never been in--that was one perk; the sightseeing. But the crowded streets were really more annoyingly full than spectacular...

Suddenly, May lets go at the sight of the Silph Co. building and he quickens his pace a bit to stay beside her.]

It's a big event, I'm sure there's something for you to snack on inside.

[She immediately makes a beeline for the front door--but something green and white catches the corner of her eye, and when she halts mid-jog to shield her eyes from the sun and get a proper look, a wide grin takes over most of her face.

We'd like to extend our deepest apologies to Brendan's and Lucky's ears in advance.]

WAAALLYYY!

[SHE'S SHOUTING. SHE'S RUNNING. SHE'S POUNCI--are you ready for this, Wally?]

[Ffff no. At hearing his name being shouted, he turns just in time to see you pounc-oh dear god. Managing to hold ourselves from being completely wiped off our feet here, stumbling back slightly.]

Ah, M-May! I-It's [some slight coughing here for a second; geez May, you practically knocked the wind out of him-before he's fine again.] great to see you again!

[Jeez, May, he liked that ear. D: oh well, it can join the other you killed when you spotted Green.

He approaches at a much more sedate, inviting pace, which slows further as he gets closer. Realization and surprise crosses his face. He raises a brow in clear confusion.

That's Wally? He was expecting something more along the lines of... Green. Tough, maybe a little muscular, confident, handsome. Not... small, frail, stuttering and cute.

But he has learned from his first meeting with May, and he quickly wipes the look from his face with a little cough of his own. He will not be rude. He will not be rude.]

[If she knew what was running through your mind or if she'd caught that expression on your face, Brendan, May might have smacked you, but luckily, she's too distracted.

She lets go of Wally after the initial pounce to let him catch his breath but after he's fine, goes back to squeezing the life out of him (uh, hopefully not literally).]

I've missed you so much! How have you been? What have you been up to lately? I had no idea you'd be here! And oh, Gardevoir, it's lovely to see you again too! You look so great!

[Gardevoir smiles at that; he thinks that it's lovely to see you again as well, May. Thankfully your questions serve as a good distraction for Wally from noticing the squeezing and "boob-squishing" as you so eloquently put it in chat.]

Aha, I missed you too May! And I've been doing pretty well myself; Gardevoir and I just got here after doing some training at the Victory Road in Sinnoh. [Oh Wally, you and your caves and mountains and victory roads. He hasn't quite noticed Brendan yet due to his attention being mostly focused on May at the moment, but he'll probably notice you soon]

How about you? What have you been up to, May?

[That's okay. Brendan will just stand here awkwardly. S'all good.]

[May finally lets go in favour of standing back and getting a proper look at her dear Wally in a totally innocent not-checking-out manner shhhhh.]

Victory Road in Sinnoh? Wow, so that's why you both look so strong!

I haven't been up to much! For the last few months I've been back in Petalburg, helping my dad out with the gym, and--oh, you know, the usual. I'm actually sharing a place with Brendan right now! You remember Brendan, don't you?

[Speaking of, where'd he--oh how convenient, he's right there. May takes Brendan by the arm and nudges him in front of her, a little closer to Wally, and beams at the both of them. You have definitely met before, right guys?]

[Erm, no, we haven't actually met each other until now, May. Which is nothing short of amazing since we're all from the same region, practically the same city. But he does remember you occasionally talking about someone named Brendan from back home that you were friends with, and that he was a researcher. For some reason Wally thought Brendan might of been a girl until May had said what his name was back in those conversations] Oh yeah, I remember you talking to me about him a few times before.

[He turns his attention from May to Brendan now, smiling politely and offering a hand out to shake with] I'm Wally. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, Brendan.

[the smile he flashes is awkward, but polite; the hand he offers slightly stiff and just as awkward.]

The pleasure's all mine.

[After that short moment of disbelief, May gives a laugh and a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of her neck.]

W-Well, I guess you have now! Better late than never, right? Anyway, I'm sure you two will get along great. You're both too wonderful not to!

[Wally can't help but laugh a little sheepishly at that in response-sorry about your misunderstanding there, May. Wally's Gardevoir takes a slight step-forward towards Wally, reminding Wally to introduce him as well to Brendan] Oh, I almost forgot, this is Gardevoir! He's my first Pokemon that I ever caught, th-thanks to May as well when May and I had first met.

[Have a Gardevoir that gives a formal bow towards you, Brendan.]

[Pokemon are so much easier to get along with. his smile becomes a bit less awkward and he nods in reply to the bow--the Ralts line is so proper and elegant.]

Nice to meet you, too, Gardevoir.

[Speaking of the Ralts line, there's a Gallade returning to the scene, gracefully dropping down by May's side. Having sensed him coming, it's not too much of a surprise, and she smiles at him.] Have a good tour of the city, Gallade? Look at who we found! It's Wally and Gardevoir!

[Gallade nods, and communicates that he'd said hello to the two earlier, but he re-acknowledges them with a smile and a bow anyway. (Significantly less awkward than before; it seems he's used the time away to do some Thinking.)

A thought occurs to May!]

Hey, guys, we've still got some time before the party, don't we? Why don't we let our Pokémon out? I'd love to see the rest of your team again, Wally!
