And Surge was quick to arrive very soon after that unpacking.

He was absolutely excited to take a look at some of Unova's technology. He wondered what kind of components they implement, and what sort of upgrades from the current market they've made. Microchips to nanochips? Handheld size to a small button with an interactive hologram? Crazy wireless connections with other planets?

Okay, maybe it wasn't that great, but he could hope, right?

He showed up fashionably quick and gave a knock. This was the correct housing, right? He was pretty sure he got those directions right.

No matter how much Kay was expecting him, the knock on her door still caught her off guard, and she almost dropped the c-gear. She cursed, catching herself before it left her hands, and she stood hurriedly to leave it on the table and answer him.
"C-coming, one second!"
When she opened the door moments later, she was flustered and a little embarrassed, but she gave him a wide smile and stepped out of the doorframe.
"Hey! Come on in! You found the place alright, my directions weren't too vague or anything?"

"What?" Surge paused and recalled that they were a little vague, but... no, no, he could handle it. He could always handle it. He gave a laugh. "Really? Vague? Ha, that's a laugh! Nothing's too vague for me! Now c'mon, lemme at it! Where is it?"

He let himself in and peered around the room to locate it. Kay, can you tell that he's excited? Because he is very excited.

"I'm glad." She suppressed a laugh as he pushed past her, already looking around for the little piece of technology.
"Here, it's on the table." Kay made her way towards him, picking it up as she went. "I was playing around with it a little before you got here, but I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to do. There's a manual in the package, but that would be too easy."

"Really? Huh," Surge muttered. He took the C-Gear into his hand and flipping it around to take a gander. It looked... pretty sweet. He decided that flipping it on might be the first choice of action before ripping it apart.

It seemed to have numerous options, some of these being synchronization options, themes, and wireless connections with the Xtransceiver. It... basically seemed a lot like a PNG, but with a few different features. There wasn't any text either, due to the lack of keyboard.

"Huh! Consider this some kinda lower-grade PNG. Dunno what these wireless things are for other than communicatin', though!"

"I think communication would be mostly it. There's the possibility that you could trade through one of these -- The GTS isn't really new technology anymore, I'm not surprised that it could be implemented in something like this -- or even simulate battles! Oh, wouldn't that be cool? Imagine taking challengers from anywhere, and you wouldn't even have to be in your gym!" The more Kay talked, the more excited she seemed to get about the idea, her face lighting up with childish glee. "I just wish we knew someone else with one! Then we could maybe see how much this thing can do. I guess taking it apart will have to do for now, though," Not that this seemed to be much of a let-down, "everything else will just have to be checked out later."

Oh, to imagine technology like that would be... incredible. Maybe there were things left in the coding that weren't used in the final product, as well, that could lead to the development of even better features. Surge could only imagine!

"Y'know what? Let's do this!" He yanked out a small pack of tools from a satchel on his waist and opened it up. He produced a screwdriver from within. "I wanna take a look at the processor. I wanna know how much this thing can handle! Lemme just start unscrewing the front around here..."

He took the screwdriver to it, noticing that he got the right size for a small, round screw like this. He slowly began to twirl it around, jiggling it from its place.

Okay, so he was just opening up the chassis. That wasn't really that interesting, not yet. But still, Kay was excited to finally get a look at the inside of the little device. So, yes, Surge was only just opening it up, but Kay was still moving over to peer over the top of the c-gear, watching him work like a little creeper.

"Just don't overload it or anything, okay? There's only so much we can figure out if you fry the whole thing, hehe!"

"You're saying that as if I've ever overloaded anything!"

Honestly, Surge has. He just... didn't really like to talk about those times. That would just be a blow to his ego that he does not welcome.

Finally, he busted it open. Let's just say it looked a lot like this.
