The noise that he made due to surprise could be best compared to the noise a cat would make if it suddenly caught on fire.

His mind was so absorbed into the Viridian festivities that his finely tuned senses didn't even notice the mysterious figure until it was far too late. Once she yelled, his imagination crumbled, and he dove face first into the dirt in front of him. Once he turned his head to see what it was that startled him, he laid laid his eyes on a very... interesting looking girl with a Farfetch'd.

He quickly picked himself up and dusted himself off, coughing throughout the whole process as if he meant to do that miraculous dive. After making sure that his mask was still in-tact and not upside-down or anything, he pointed his finger directly at the young girl, which was still shaking slightly due to fear.

"D-Don't sneak up on people like that, especially your elders! My heart almost gave in, and I could have sworn that I saw Heaven's majestic gates for a brief moment before realizing that it was dirt! Do you think you would have been able to shoulder the burden of killing a man simply by introducing yourself and asking a question?! No! You're far too young, so don't go around scaring people like that!"

After getting all that out of system, he slowly let his arm droop back to his side.

"And no, I am not your daddy, young girl! In fact, I think that this is the first time I've ever seen you in my entire life, so I don't even know what gave you the idea that we're related."

Jody laughed at the man's sudden reaction, having never seen an adult as silly as him. She liked him! It was too bad that he wasn't her daddy. And it was too bad that she wasn't allowed to grab other people's fingers anymore.

"Oh," she said, not sure how else to respond. "I didn't mean to hurt you, mister. I didn't know, you weren't my daddy 'cause you're wearing a mask. I'm looking for my daddy, and I thought it could be you."

She giggled. "You talk really weirdly! Are you going to the party, too? I heard there's one in a city near a forest. Want to go with me?"

What.... a strange girl. A myriad of thoughts went rampant throughout his mind, but that one thought was the one that stood out the most. It was weird for a man as weird as he to think that anyone was weird, but he couldn't help but think that everything about this girl was off. On the other hand, he also felt slightly comfortable... for some reason, this girl wasn't looking at him with eyes that most others would in this situation. It felt nice, but he wasn't going to admit that any time soon. First he had to clear up this misunderstanding.

"W-Well..." he sputtered, puffing out his chest proudly. "I suppose I can let your murder attempt slide this time, but you shouldn't just wander around asking strangers if they're your daddy. People might get the wrong idea, and while I may look like this on the outside, there are some villains out there who look like this on the inside. Be more careful, young one!"

He wondered if his lecture got through to her, but it was hard to tell since all she was doing was laughing at him. He wanted to defend his honor by saying he did not talk funny, but he figured that it would only make her laugh more, so he decided to just go along with her conversation. "Ah yes, the Viridian festival, of course I've heard of that! Though... it would be quite impossible to go with you, young lady, for I am already at the festival!"
