hi all...
Just dropping in as I haven't been here for a while. I do read posts, but haven't been posting myself :)
Have been extremely ill lately, a cold which turned into a lung infection. As I have asthma, plus some kind of non-smokers emphasnya thingy, my lungs don't work at full strength anyway - so it has been fun battling this thing for the past two - three weeks. I am still coughing, but at least I can now speak - lost my voice for four days last week.
Unfortunately, my boss didn't want me to get sick. Of course I couldn't do anything about that.. she also didn't want me to go to the doctor during working hours (as I could have gone during the weekend - when I was so ill that I couldn't even get out of bed to get some panadol!). So yeah, long and short of it, I have handed in my notice. I gave my boss 7 weeks notice, which is way more than required. She got very angry .. but I think she is frustrated at me, and I am frustrated at her. On Monday she was barely speaking to me - actually, no, she wasn't speaking to me at all. Had Tuesday at the Ministry, so wasn't at work.. and on Wednesday she was civil again. She needs someone there full time.. and I need to get into the city, or a bigger law firm or something. Prayers for guidence as to where to from here would be appreciated! Last day is 12 October, and I want to take a week holiday (if not two), and then start work.. Will be saving like crazy between now and then, so I can take longer if I need to.
Anna has now gone back to Italy, so that was rather sad to see her go :-( But I am glad that we managed to spend so much time together when she was here.. saying goodbye to her son Francesco was hard too.. he found saying good bye hard as well, poor kid.. wish I could adopt him and have him here all the time! very cute little guy, a real mini italian. :-)
Umm.. what else is new... not much springs to mind .. a few prayer needs (family is going through a hard time at the moment, and a friend - younger than me - from church has cancer again - nothing the docs can do this time). I have booked my flight to Dunedin for Christmas day, but not my flight home yet. Need to figure out whats happening with the family first... have a wedding there on the Saturday after Christmas.
Am wanting to get back into walking, now that spring is arriving in 25 mins or so.. time to get back moving :) Not sure when the Council open the gates to One Tree Hill later than 6pm, but once they do, will be going around there after work - of course I have only a few more weeks of working next door to there! I have to start my training for the Camino, and also start losing those excess kilos, for the wedding, for my health, and for all those other reasons that people rabbit on about. Oh yeah, and for the Lake Waikaramoana hike next Easter :-) Anyone want to come on that?!
