30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 5
Oh look, another night! Yep...two nights off and back at it again tonight. So once more it wasn't very busy. I mean it is Weds after all and it was raining a bit before we actually opened. Not fun for those stuck outside. There really isn't much to go into tonight since it was so slow. Only about 3 hours of actually being open from what I remember...
Once again I got to play musical scenes. After first being told I'd be back where I was Sunday night....I got moved into the the "spine pull" room. Apparently the guy that plays the doctor was missing tonight and I was the "only person" they could think of for it. By this time it was pretty cold and Carrie wasn't feeling overly hot. So Emily had her take the night off after they couldn't do anything to keep her warm from what they had in the costuming area. So to the car she went....and of course it rained.
So waiting for make-up I got to meet my victim for the night...nice girl. It was her first night and my first night in that scene...so it was a little surreal. I don't really envy the victim in that scene since they have to basically sit/kneel and poke out through a hole in the table. It's a pretty simple scene to work...just needs decent timing. People come in...girls starts crying, saying help me, ect...then I come over and tell her to shut up then rip out her spine. Before that was kinda funny when I had to go into the fridge to get out the bucket of blood to apply to the scrubs I had on and then ended up taking it up to the room with me so I could apply it on the victim and it took a while before anyone could get up there to remove it..so we had a bucket of blood with us for a bit. Kind of fitting, don't ya think?
The night went pretty smoothly...except for the fact that a few of the new people thought the night was over before it actually was. That caused a bit of chaos towards the end but it was quickly fixed and life went on for the next 20 minutes or so...then it was finally over. Getting my victim out of the clothes she had to wear was a bit of a slow experience...mainly because the sleeve of the shirt had gotten stuck to her arm because of it. So after carefully removing it from her skin without tearing any off we got out of there.
In other news we had about 4 new make-up people tonight, another speech about "not improving outside of the character" ect..ect.. We also found out that tomorrow night is payday. Which is nice, definitely a good thing. Also more on that picnic thing that they're going to do on some Saturday at some point for friends and family. Not sure when that'll be but should be interesting at the same time.
So again...here's the tally for the randomness that goes on:
Broken Props: 3 (bed, a bone, half of a scene's fencing)
Costumes Ditched: 1 (original prison costume)
Scenes Changed: 6 All in all it's been as follows:
Carrie: Coffin Girl, Exorcist, Cannibal.
Me: Prison Scene, Cannibal Cage, Spine Pull
Bodily Injuries: Bruises (me...just lots of sore spots..even more now), Welts on knees (Carrie), Ankle Strain (Carrie)
1st Bloody Injury: Still Carrie! (we're not sure how this happened but I have a feeling it's from her having to be on her knees down at the Exorcist scene)
