Uploading the English Language was the easy part, but trying to figure out what all the slang means after that is a whole different story. Especially for sayings that really have no meaning to many of us Transformers ( Read more... )

*shrugs* If it's just me and my brother, it depends on who gets there first. *grins* I never got the 'shotgun' thing either, so thanks for that! Clears things up a bit. ^_^;;

I started to wonder if it came from the human militaries. Like the guy who wanted to fire the guns in the tank would say that. Or when Kicker would ride ontop by my head where my guns were, instead of down below in the seats. *heh* The Stagecoach thing is kind of similar, I guess.

Might be because it seems to be an American thing. Over here we seem to refer to it as the "passenger" seat instead.

So people in Britian do say "front seat"?

Yeah.

I guess it's American slang that's the most confusing then.

*grins* Don't you believe it. I bet we could come up with some choice bits between us Brits...

*headtilts and thinks for a second*

How abooooout... Going down the apples and pears for a cup of Rosie Lee, then meeting the old man for a spot of hows-yer-father?

*grins up at him, optics twinkling playfully*

Uhm... That sounds like you're going to a place to eat for some coffee, and then to visit family after.

Seeing as its Brit slang, I'd make a guess that it'd actually be tea rather than coffee.

Blind guess. I noticed humans like drinking a lot of sweet carbonated beverages or coffee for their energy.

Ah. *shrugs* I still say you've been spendin' too much time in the Americas. Why don't you come over to the UK for a bit, hmm?

I have? Or maybe it's cause Ocean City was mostly run by Amercian scientists...? I didn't get to spend much time on Earth's continents before we left for space. *heh*

The UK is up over there in the Europe sector, right?

Yup, the island off the coast of France. Looks a bit like a man's head on a rabbit's body, although that could just be me...

And you were close. Apples-and-pears is cockney rhyming slang for stairs, Rosie Lee is tea, the 'old man' is someone's husband, and how's-yer-father is snuggling. You did pretty well, considering. *smiles*

*grins* I did...? *heh*

... how's-yer-father is snuggling.

*blnks* I think I better not ask...
