I know someone who likes Pink Floyd so much that they just can't express their love for the band in words. I like Pink Floyd too, but I could never really relate to being unable to express love for a band. But I guess I just wasn't thinking about it.
Today I was listening to I Could've Lied by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and I just sat there, wanting to tell everyone how great I think the RHCP is, and how inspired they make me feel, et cetera. And I couldn't find the words. It turns out that all along I've known what it is to love a band so much that I can't express it, and now I really know what my friend is saying when she talks about Pink Floyd that way.
I've always maintained that my favourite band is The Beatles, because I grew up listening to them. I really did. But they aren't my favourite band, because I can sum up my love for them in that sentence, or variations of it: "I love The Beatles so much because they defined a large part of my childhood," whereas I could never begin to explain how much I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their music.
I'm done now, but I was thinking about that all day. It's almost like a revelation, ha ha.
Anyways, to do something with my creative burst, I attempted to actually make something that didn't completely disappoint me: my new header image (featuring none other than Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante). I actually like it.
