Hmm. Sitting alone at the bar at the Three Broomsticks on a Friday night. Any other week Daphne might have found the situation terribly clichéd and a little sad, but tonight she didn't mind a bit. This week had been absolutely brilliant, especially work. The long and late hours she'd spent working on the Weasley case had done nothing but energise her, and she was half-hoping that they'd call her in to work the weekend as well. There were still dozens of samples left to test, and once that was done, she was hoping Davies would need her help with some of the more intensive parts.
Downing her shot of firewhiskey, she pushed the glass across the bar and settled in with her butterbeer and her book. Maybe reading Incendiary Properties of Magical Substances, Third Edition wasn't exactly exciting to most, but it wasn't as if she had a date. Or really friends she could have invited. And besides, she wasn't allowed to discuss the case with anyone anyway. At least studying up a bit was almost as satisfying.
