By now, you all know about the fire at George's shop last night. Fleur said that she owled to let you know he and Lee were safe and staying with us. I haven't heard anything yet from the aurors regarding their investigation, but we should hopefully get some information soon. It might have just been an accident, but it also might have been intentional.
I'm not really writing this about the fire; not directly, at least. I was putting off writing this until I knew something for certain because I kept hoping that maybe it'd be okay. I have to write it now, though, and I don't really know what to say let everyone know what's happened. I just got home from St. Mungos. George is...well, he's broken.
It's not physical. Not from injuries in the fire or anything, but the fire did it. Or maybe it's been happening since the war and we just couldn't see it. I don't know. I was with him and Lee this morning at the shop, and he just snapped. I took him to the hospital to see his healer, but it wasn't good. He's just...empty. They've admitted him to St. Mungos for observation and treatment. I'm confident that his healer will do everything possible to help put him back together, but I don't know much about what's going to happen or how things are going to be.
I was told that they have a strict visitation period, and they might not even let him see anyone unless they want. I couldn't get them to agree to anything else. Mum and Dad, I'm sorry. I tried, but I just couldn't do what he needed, and now he's locked away so they can try to help. I hope they can help. They're going to take good care of him, I know, and we'll be informed about his treatment and everything as it progresses.
He's just lost right now, and they're going to do what they can to help him find his way back to us.
