Katie curled up on her couch, the picture frame in her hands. She'd been doing a lot of thinking lately, since the night she'd spent dancing with Liam. She cared for Marcus and they were good together, but she couldn't do it anymore. The secrets and lying and sneaking around was wearing her down, plus she was still in love with Dean. As much as she'd wanted to stop loving him, she couldn't. Maybe she could be with Marcus one day, but not now. Not until she had her head sorted.
She traced Dean's face in the photograph with her finger, watching enviously as his image kissed hers. She didn't think there was even the slightest chance he would take her back, but Merlin, how she missed him. The way he tried not to laugh at her when she was being sulky. The feel of his hands on her body. The way he looked when he was sleeping.
She set the picture down and got out a quill and a piece of parchment. She couldn't keep lying to herself or to Marcus any longer.
