Kevin motioned for Anthony to sit, that he didn't mind but said nothing since he had a mouthful of croissant in his mouth. He was feeling particularly happy today even though it was rainy again, but somehow it just didn't matter. He could still feel Padma's warm hands wrapped around his own and he suppressed a grin, because really who would want to see Kevin with his mouth full of food. "What's up, Goldstein?" he asked his former housemate once he was done with his food.
Anthony took a long drink of juice while he waited for Kevin to finish his croissant. "Not much," he replied, breaking a piece off his scone. "I've never seen you here for breakfast before," he continued, "I come here most mornings."
Kevin shrugged and looked around. "I didn't feel like eating breakfast at home this morning. So I came here because I saw this place the other night and thought it'd be nice to try it out." he answered before taking a sip of his tea. "I wasn't wrong."
Anthony smiled. "Can't go wrong here. Mrs. Marlinspike's pastries are the best. I don't know how she does it." He took a bite of his scone, then grinned. "Magic, I guess," he joked.
"Possibly. But you're right. They are absolutely delicious. So far I've had a croissant and a muffin." he told Anthony popping an other piece of croissant in his mouth, moaning at the flavour. "I never make breakfast that good."
Anthony nodded and popped a piece of his scone in his mouth. "You should try the almond croissants some time," he said, "They're brilliant. Of course, so are the banana nut muffins. It can be hard to choose some mornings."
"Sure will next time." he told Anthony, grinning as he gave his tea a swirl before sipping at it. "Yeah, I do have to go soon. I'm hoping this week will start off nicely, because I'm not in the mood for things to go badly." He was far too happy for that.
"Bad weekend, then?" Anthony guessed. Kevin's mood seemed a little off. Of course, he was Kevin, so there was really never any telling with him. He'd always been pretty closed off.
Kevin blushed and smiled, pretty sure he looked silly. "Actually, no. It went really awesome and I don't want work to spoil that." he answered, shifting on his seat while his grin widened. "You know how you can 'know' someone for a long time and realise you didn't know that person? And once you do know more about that person that she's becoming so.. interesting and awesome?"
Kevin's blush darkened as he thought of Padma, but he brought his attention back to Anthony and he grinned. "No, not Tracey. Or even Millie." he said, shaking his head before taking an other sip of his tea.
"I am dating Padma, actually. Saturday was our second date and," he breathed out shakily, running his hand in his hair. "She's so awesome and interesting. Talking with her.. it's entertaining and fun but we also have touched some serious issues and opinions and.." Kevin bit his lower lip, smiling. "I always have an incredible time with her."
"Padma, really? She's fantastic," replied Anthony. He wondered what had become of the housemate Kevin had been interested in, but decided not to ask. He was clearly head-over-heels for Padma, and Anthony didn't think it would be very polite to remind Kevin that he'd been after someone else not so long ago. "I didn't know you two knew each other that well."
Kevin chuckled. "We didn't until.. well three weeks ago. We met again in Flourish&Blott's and I asked her if she wanted to have tea, so we'd catch up." Just thinking about that day was maiking Kevin's cheeks heat up and he bit his lower lip.
"I ended up asking her out for dinner, which was two weeks ago. And we had our second date last Saturday." He was really happy with the way things were doing with Padma and he really liked spending time with her. "I brought her to Italian's kitchen. We talked a lot about many different things."
