Molly was glad of Percy's help as she moved about the kitchen. She'd put him to work chopping and cooking the vegetables while she looked after the roast chicken and ham. Ginny's birthday cake was cooking on the windowsill, protected from man and beast by a number of charms.
"Right, Perce. It looks like we're all set," Molly said, kissing her son on the cheek. She bustled upstairs to change into nicer robes that weren't splattered with gravy and then hurried back downstairs, checking to make sure everything was just as she'd left it.
