Angelina hadn't wanted to leave her flat--not other than to work that is--but Cho had asked her if she was going to the fundraiser. Angelina had been conflicted because she didn't feel like socializing, but she wanted to support Oliver.
She and Cho had gone to the game together, and surprisingly she had enjoyed herself. The game had been amazing, and she couldn't wait to find Oliver to congratulate him on such an amazing job.
After the game, Cho went off to see someone, and they had decided to meet up in a little while. In the meantime, Angelina wandered around, grabbed a bite to eat, and tried not to think of Lukas and their painful goodbye.
Cho was still keyed up after watching the Quidditch game. It had been an exciting match and she thought it had been a great idea for a fundraiser. It was no doubt going to be a successful one with the number in attendance and the crowd's enthusiasm.
After she said hello to a few people, she made her way back to find Angelina. Cho was glad Ang had decided to come today. It had been a rough week for her, and Cho hoped a fun event such as this Quidditch game would be good for Ang.
She soon caught up with Angelina, "Hey, can you believe this crowd?" She smiled, "It's a good day to be a Quidditch fan."
Angelina turned around when she heard Cho's voice. She smiled at her. "It's brilliant," she agreed. "I'm so proud of Oliver. I'm hoping to find him, but with all the people, I don't know if we'll be able to even spot him."
She held out a plate of chips. "Want any? I realized I haven't eat all day, so I bought something. I can't eat them all though. We can get drinks if you like."
She agreed, "Oliver has done a wonderful job with this. It's good to know we have someone like him in Magical Games working to promote Quidditch."
When Angelina offered some of her chips, Cho gladly accepted. "Thanks, all the lovely aromas have been tempting me." She had noticed Angelina's lack of appetite this week but was glad she trying to eat something. She took a bite of a chip and looked around the food area. "Sure, let me get the drinks. What would you like?"
Angelina almost said, "Something strong," but she stopped herself. "Oh, I don't particularly care. Something like pumpkin juice is fine."
The area had a variety of drink stands and places offering food. It really was a nice set up. Cho started to walk off and get drinks by herself, but suddenly Angelina didn't want to be alone. "I'll just go with you."
As they walked, Angelina wished the game was still on because it had been an excellent distraction. "So...how have you been?" she asked, trying to fill the space with words.
She was heading for one of the drink stands when Angelina decided to accompany her. Cho smiled as she snagged another chip from Ang's plate.
As they were walking, she glanced sideways with concern. "I've been doing okay." She had seen Angelina a few times already this week and was still worried about her. Cho was hoping it would be good for her to get out today. "It's been busy at St. Mungo's but I'm managing to stay ahead on my studying. That makes it a little less stressful." She thought back to work yesterday and her talk with Fleur. "I don't think I told you, but I've been looking into volunteering some at the new Cultural Centre."
Angelina held her plate of chips closer to Cho while they walked. "Really?" she asked when Cho mentioned helping out Fleur. "What kind of volunteer work would you be doing at the Centre?"
She quickly finished eating the chip before replying, "I guess right now, whatever could use me for. The Centre should be opening next month but they'll soon be working to get the exhibits and classrooms ready."
When they arrived at a drink stand, she ordered and paid for two pumpkin juices. Passing one to Angelina, she continued, "I was glad to hear there will be opportunities for volunteers on weekends and some evenings. The work they do is important and I'd really like to contribute some of my time to such an organization."
Angelina thanked Cho for the pumpkin juice and listened to her talk about the Centre. "I know this is terrible to say, but I suppose I don't really know much about the Centre. What will the classrooms and exhibits be for, teaching Muggle and Wizarding rights concerning equality and fair treatment of all people and creatures?"
Angelina smiled at Cho. "I think you're amazing," she said. "I want to be you when I grow up," she added with a grin. "If you think my help could be beneficial or there's something I could volunteer for, let me know. It sounds like a good thing, and I'd like to give back to the community when I can."
