RP: Twas the Night Before Exams

"They were doing very well. Poppy has only had to treat one NEWT and three OWL level students for pre-examination related stress this term," Minerva told Griselda Marchbanks in reply to her question about how the children were holding up. "Overall, I'd say they are not quite as well prepared at NEWT level as the group from February but neither did they have the inducements to work as hard. Adult learners are nearly always more committed to their studies. The OWL students are patchy in Defense -- the year with Delores Umbridge and last year with Carrow did not help -- but they'll be all right."
Griselda looked down the head table at the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor. "Dedalus Diggle is still here. Which, all things considered Min, is good news. Is there a betting pool for whether or not he finishes the year?"
Minerva chuckled, "Dedalus is convinced with Voldemort gone that he'll be fine. I wasn't taking any chances. I had a completely new contract drafted and re-hired him last week, just in case it was some sort of curse on the contract Albus always had replicated instead of the post itself. I figured it would not hurt to be suspicious and Dedalus was delighted to be invited back to teach. Bill Weasley and Matilda Manning have agreed to return as well. Matilda's youngest starts Hogwarts next year. She will be moving into the castle and taking over duties as Head of House for Gryffindor."
