Date: May 17th 1999 Characters: Kevin Entwhistle, Cho Chang Location: 47 South Vinewood, Flat 3A Status: Private Summary: Kevin visits Cho Completion: Incomplete
Cho had placed a Warming charm on the pizza when Kevin owled back about coming over. She heard a knock at the door while she was in the process of tidying up the table which was covered with different stacks of homework and research projects. She decided the couch would be fine for eating pizza.
She opened the door and invited him inside. “Hi, Kevin. Thanks for coming over.”
"Oh, don't thank me. I should thank you for letting me come over." he told her as she let him in. "Oh and I brought over dessert.. well not so much dessert as snacks." Kevin told Cho, lifting up the bag containing the various sweets.
"It's still nice of you to come over, Kevin." She walked him through to the living area and eyed the bag from Honeydukes. She smiled, "It sounds like the perfect dessert to have after pizza."
She gestured towards the pizza box on the low table in front of the couch. "We can sit on the couch and eat," she nodded towards her dining table, "since we don't have room there." She walked towards the kitchen as she asked, "What would you like to drink? I bought some beer when I picked up the pizza but if you want something else, I also have butterbeer, wine, juice, and water."
"Thought so." he answered proudly. He pondered a moment about the drink. "I'll take a beer if you don't mind. Friday nights I usually loosen up the tie." Kevin didn't mention that Tracey did have a point about him wearing ties.
She removed two beers from the cooler and also brought in two plates with some napkins. "I usually need to relax a little myself after a week at work. Besides, you need beer when you have pizza."
She handed him ones of the bottles and then placed the plates and napkins on the table. "Have a seat, Kevin." She sat down, opening the box and inhaling the aroma. "This smells so good."
Kevin smelled the pizza and gave a soft moan. "It smells awesome." he told Cho as he helped her settle everything for dinner. "I don't usually have beer at home. I kind of started going out for one once in a while."
"I usually get one whenever I'm at a pub. Bottled is okay, but the pulled pints taste much better." After they each got a slice on their plates, she leaned back to take her first bite. "Mmmm, that's perfect." She took a swallow of beer before asking, "I wonder if we could learn to make these."
Kevin leaned too to bite into his piece and chewed a moment, wondering too if he would be able to make pizza. "Maybe, who knows." he said once his mouth was empty before he sipped at his beer.
She finished another bite before replying, "I'll look through some cookbooks for a recipe." She considered it for a moment, "I think we'd need to make dough though. The toppings and cheese would be easy enough."
"How's work going?" she asked, nibbling the crust of the pizza slice before taking another bite of the center.
Kevinw as actually cheweing on a bigger piece of pizza, clearly hungry. He wiped the corner of his mouth with his naokin as he swallowed. "Everything is fine, really. They are getting nice leads on their research and I'm really proud of being part of it."
"What about you? Are you in your studies way over your head lately?"
"That's good to hear." She took another drink before continuing, "I'm glad you're enjoying it there."
"It has been busy lately with exams and more responsibilities, but busy is good. I'm happy to be learning something new everyday." She pointed at the books on the dining table, "There's still much to learn."
Kevin quirked his brow, wondering why she was mentioning it at all. "It's been a while since I've seen Millie around. She studies a lot lately and I've been told to not interrupt her whenever she's doing flash cards." he told Chol with a smile.
Cho noted his reaction to Millie's name and after her talk with Millie, she understood why. She had to bite her lip not to smile when Kevin mentioned Millie's flash cards and her instructions for him. "Best heed the warning, Kevin."
Well, if talking about Millie made him uncomfortable they could talk about something else. She took another drink of her beer before asking, "So, Kevin, how's Tracey?"
"Already am." he answered before biting in his pizza again chewing for a moment before taking a sip of his beer only to nearly chock on it as Cho asked how Tracey was. He didn't really mean to be surprised or to even show it, but how could he not after everything that's happened lately?
She was surprised when Kevin spluttered a bit when she asked about Tracey. “Okay, there?” Interesting reaction. When she saw he was alright, she excused herself to get two more beers from the cooler. She placed one bottle on the table in front of him as she sat down on the couch again.
“More pizza, or something sweet?” She smiled as she blatantly eyed the bag from Honeyduke’s. She had been intending on another night alone but had to admit, she was really glad Kevin had come over. Just spending time with a friend was already putting her in a better mood.
"Oh, no thanks. I'm full, but feel free to go through the bag." he told her, opening the next beer and taking a large sip of it. There they were again, butterflies..
She opened the door and invited him inside. “Hi, Kevin. Thanks for coming over.”
