One of the best reasons to choose Tattered Pages for lazy browsing was the fact that they had comfortable reading chairs. The chairs at Flourish and Blotts were nice, but they weren't necessarily intended for more than a brief sit while looking through books. The chairs at Tattered Pages, though, were large and comfy and perfect excuses to lose one's self in books for longer than was probably appropriate.
That was the reason Hermione had decided to go to Hogsmeade after work instead of just dropping by Flourish and Blotts. It was raining in Hogsmeade when she arrived, so she didn't waste time walking to the bookshop. Once there, she scanned the stacks and chose a few different books before she located an empty chair. It had been a busy Monday, complete with a misplaced file that she'd finally located after searching for longer than she cared to think about and a terrible lunch that she'd not even finished. Going to Tattered Pages was a good way to improve the day before she saw Harry, which would likely make the day much better.
The idea that simply seeing him could improve her mood was something she still found somewhat surprising, even if she wasn't used to it now. After yesterday, she was sure that she must be walking around with a silly grin on her face or possibly somehow conveying silently that she had a boyfriend who was brilliant and handsome and her best friend. Of course, she had spent a lot of today scowling at files, so maybe the smile was just inside instead of out. It would be best if that were true, since she didn't want anyone being suspicious or noticing internal smiles of happiness or whatever one did after making another step forward in a relationship.
She stopped thinking about it for now. If she weren't in the bookshop, she'd laugh at herself, but she had no interest in making people think she was mental. Instead, she opened one of the books that she'd selected and began to scan it for information to see if it was worth buying or not.
