Lisa was running a few minutes late. She'd had a job in the field that morning, and it had taken a bit longer than usual to get things cleaned up. Even Hardy had been surprised at the magnitude of it. It was probably the sort of assignment that they wouldn't have intentionally sent a trainee to handle--even with an experienced partner--but she was actually really glad for the toughness of it. It had been a nice challenge, and she was feeling really geared up to write up the report after lunch.

She saw Michael almost immediately upon entering the canteen and waved. "Heya, Corner. Glad to see they do occasionally let you out of the office."

Michael grinned and waved when he saw Lisa enter the canteen. "Oi! Turpin!" He pulled a small package from his robe. "Perhaps you can exchange it for a watch, Lise."

"You're not the only one with a demanding job," she said, sticking her tongue out at him. Still, Lisa couldn't help but grin as he handed her a present. Taking it, she gave Michael a swift kiss on the cheek and then looked at him. "Should I open it now or after lunch? You are buying, remember?"

Michael sighed dramatically. "Merlin, I'd hoped you'd forget about that!" He grinned at her and handed her some coins. "Go get some lunch, you." He plucked the gift out of her hand. "Just leave that here. You can open it when you get back."

He pointed to the lunch queue. "Go get something to eat, Turpin."

It seemed her worry wasn't as misplaced as she'd thought it might be. Lisa studied his face. "It's perfectly reasonable that the first bit be harder than the rest, just to see who can handle the stress and who can't," she said. "Three years at that level of intensity just wouldn't be effective, I don't think."

She sipped her water. "Besides, if anyone can make it through the 'boot camp,' as you called it...I'd bet on you over Potter and Weasley any day."
