Fleur wished she had her wand but she had needed to give it and her wedding ring to Bill for safekeeping when she was admitted to the Maternity Ward. She wanted to hex the Midwife who had come in a little while ago to relieve a woman Fleur had liked very much. Her high-pitched sing-song voice was getting on Fleur's nerves and making her tense up, which was not a good thing during labor. When her Healer told her to relax for the third time, Fleur, who so far had been fairly calm and practical during labor, completely lost it, telling her to get rid of the annoying woman so she could relax. Thankfully, her Healer dealt with it instantly, and a different Midwife came in shortly after that to help support the birth. The replacement was far younger than the last but she was a large woman with a deep, rich voice than Fleur found soothing instead of grating.
Her Healer had approved of Fleur's desire to squat while pushing and the replacement Midwife was helping Bill support her properly. There were two Medi-witches in the room as well ready to assist. Fleur was sweating and tired but she continued to do everything they told her to do. "Not much longer, Fleur. You're doing really well. I see the head." To Fleur it was now an unending series of contractions and pushes and she was tired, sweaty and ready to be done but she kept doing what needed doing.
"One more, Fleur. You're almost done," her Healer told her and Fleur gave another push. There was a flurry of activity with the Midwife and the Medi-witches. "Congratulations, you have a little girl. Let's finish taking care of you first," the Healer delivered the afterbirth and the Midwife traded places with the Healer to help Fleur into bed to rest while Bill met his daughter.
