Friday afternoon and time for a spot of post-ballet refuelling. Lavender was enjoying her lessons, even if she was often left rather wiped afterwards and her feet hurting. So, after a shower and changing into some comfortable shoes, Lavender headed to Diagon Alley after Bobbin the house elf had informed her that her grandmother was having dinner with a gentleman caller. Lavender wasn't quite sure she wanted to know what that meant, and so she decided to go out for something to eat.

She considered going to the Pink Umbrella, but she knew if she went there she could just end up pigging out on chocolate brownie and a sinfully good chocolate milkshake.

So she headed to Calliope's instead, knowing she wouldn't be quite so tempted and that she could get a decent sandwich or something there. When she arrived at the café, Lavender spotted Lisa as as she was looking for a table, and stopped to say hello.

"Hi! Haven't seen you for a while."

Lisa had just written "Invitation List" at the top of her parchment when she heard a voice greeting her. She looked up to see her old housemate standing next to her. "Hi, Lavender!" she said, brightly. "It has been a long time. How are you? How's your grandmother's house?"

"I'm alright, thanks. Just came to get something to eat because Gradma's gone out for the night. The house is good. Very different than Hogsmeade. What about you? I'm sure Parvati told me what you're doing these days, but I can't remember."

She tilted her head, looking at the parchment Lisa was writing on. "Oh, what are you planning?" she asked curiously.

"Things are good," Lisa said, smiling. "I'm working on the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad at the Ministry, actually. Just training now, but I think we're going we're going to get to start on our first cases soon."

She glanced back down at the parchment, then shrugged. "My birthday party. Or my potential party, I guess." Lisa gestured to the seat across from her. "Do you want to sit?"

Lavender started writing some names, so Lisa followed suit. She started with her three favourite boys and followed with a few other names she knew wouldn't be on her friend's list. At the other's comments, she looked up. "I think the problem, ultimately, is that almost everything beyond trackies and trainers feels uncomfortable to me." She shook her head, chuckling a little to herself. "Parvati is trying to broaden my range, break me in to some different things, I guess. I've been pleasantly surprised a few times, so I usually let her have her way. The skirt she put me in last week to go dancing was probably a bit much...though it was a pretty humorous conversation piece." She winked.

"I disagree, but thanks anyway." Lisa felt herself blush. "Terry's...yeah. Much better than any dress."

"Trousers can be good for going out. Not trackie bottoms, but... well, short skirts aren't the be all and end all of going out clothes." Lavender giggled. "And just what sort of conversations were you having about your skirt? I can only imagine."

Lavender wrinkled her nose. "No. Anyone who's the slightest bit envious of my body needs to see a therapist. I do."

Lisa was blushing and it made Lavender smile. "See? He even puts colour in your cheeks, so that makes him better than any make-up, too."

"Oh, you know, the usual. Mostly asking Parvati and Cho to make sure my arse wasn't showing." She laughed, then grinned slyly. "Parvati was wearing some really nice trousers the other day. Maybe I can make a point of asking to borrow them for the party. That might get me some reprieve, don't you think?"

Lisa shrugged. "I don't really do the comparison thing so much. I just don't think this--" She gestured at herself. "--is anywhere near 'great body' status. Mostly I just don't care. But the part of me that doesn't care is the same one that wants to wear denims all the time. Some of those dresses would really benefit if I actually had curves."

"Don't wear much of that either," she said, laughing. "So I guess it's a good thing."

She added a few more names to her list, then glanced over at Lavender's. "How's yours coming? I think I've gotten almost everyone."

"I think it might." Lavender shook her head, reaching to take a sip of her drink. "You're fit and healthy. Which is probably more than can be said for me given my eating problems." She was trying her best, though, and rarely skipped meals anymore. She even felt comfortable about eating in public, which hadn't been the case a few months ago.

"Curves aren't the most important thing. It's finding cuts and styles that flatter what you do have." She smirked. "And maybe give the illusion of curves."

Lavender nodded. "I think it's finished." It wasn't the longest of lists, really, and she pushed it across to Lisa. "I... don't get out that much these days."
