Kingsley had spent a long morning at the Ministry in last minute talks with the Bulgarian wizarding government on some proposed export laws. Afterwards, he'd had plenty of paperwork to catch up on, but his desk blotter had studiously reminded him of his upcoming appointment with Wayne Hopkins, and so he'd packed up his briefcase and headed home to grab a late lunch and tidy the place a bit before his guest arrived. At least if he had the home office situation settled, he'd be able to more comfortably handle some of these tasks from home rather than the Ministry.
The room he was planning to use was a mish-mash of junk, and so he set about clearing out most of it, leaving only a ramshackle old desk he'd inherited from his grandmother (and not one of the nice sorts of inherited pieces). He liked the way it was positioned so that he was facing out the window, which had a nice view of his back garden, and so he left it there to show Mr. Hopkins that particular feature he wanted. Otherwise, the room was bare as bare could be...far too stark for his taste. He hoped the young man would be up to the task.
About fifteen minutes before Mr. Hopkins was scheduled to arrive, Kingsley put on the kettle and set out the tea tray he reserved for guests. Then he checked that his attire was suitably neat, yet not too formal, before sitting on the couch and waiting. It was nice to just relax, even if it was only for a few minutes.
