Molly had told Bill the trio was not entirely sure Grimmauld was free of Dark Magic, and since Ron was his brother, and Harry and Hermione nearly siblings, he immediately volunteered to stop by and check it out. It would be good practice, considering how he was a bit rusty from his two months away from Gringotts.

He smiled at Harry, almost not noticing Kreacher as he entered. Giving the house elf a nod, Bill stretched out a hand to Harry. "Hey, stranger. Hear you're looking for an extinguisher." His father had told him about muggles who rooted out bugs, and Bill thought it was much the same, whether the bug was real, or magical, as it were.

"Bill," Harry said, grinning. It hadn't been very long since he'd seen Ron's oldest brother at Shell Cottage, but they had yet to really talk much. "Hey. Yeah, your mum reckons the house could use another once-over." He shrugged and smiled wryly as Kreacher made himself scarce.

"It couldn't hurt, right? We appreciate you coming by."

"What mum wants, mum gets." He grinned. "Most of the time. And safe shelter for my sibs is one thing I can do to set her mind at ease." He moved into the front foyer. "How've you been? Haven't seen anyone since the funerals." He kept his tone matter of fact, not giving in to any twinges. He'd been sleeping soundly for a week, and wanted to continue moving on, if possible.

"I've been alright," he said casually, stepping back and leading Bill into the foyer proper, then through to the parlor. "Helping at Hogwarts mostly, which has been good. And trying to get this place straight. I've not seen a whole lot of people, either but, yeah. Things are well."

He gestured to one of the seats in the parlor. "Ron and Hermione are about, somewhere. I've only just got in myself, and I know Hermione was working earlier. How's Fleur?"

It was a relief to see that Ron and Harry seemed to agree with her opinion that the majority of the house, especially the areas used back when it was Order Headquarters, had already been scanned enough to be considered safe. Even if they hadn't done a thorough look themselves, she'd have trusted that the main rooms used back then were safe.

They finished on the first floor and went up to the second, which was where their bedrooms were as well as other areas that hadn't been used as frequently. The scan that Bill was doing didn't showing anything, which was good.

"I suppose it depends on what happens with school," Hermione said. "I'd like to get my NEWTs because, otherwise, my options are very limited. However, I don't know if I'd want to go back for an entire year of school, because I like living here and not being treated like a child. Besides, I'll be nineteen in a few months, and that's just too old to be a seventh year. So, really, I don't know yet."

Harry nodded as Hermione answered Bill. "Yeah, the thing for me is having options," he said. "I don't particularly know what I'll end up doing, but I figure won't have a whole lot of choice without getting my NEWTs, at least in the basic subjects. I definitely don't fancy another year of school, though -- even though we never had a seventh year, it's just ... so much time has passed."

"I'm working at George's shop," Ron interjected. "Inventing things with him. Mum and Hermione want me to go back to Hogwarts and I told them I'd look into my options once we know what they are." He didn't really fancy another year of school either, not going back to being in a much more crowded dorm with the year below him and taking classes about things they had probably already moved beyond after the School of Camping, but he didn't feel right if Harry and Hermione went and he didn't. If he didn't get his N.E.W.T.s, he'd never have a chance to be an Auror either.

Bill nodded as he listened to them each in turn. "Options are good. Never know what you're going to fancy doing, and the education is good for opening at least more possible doors, if nothing else."

He turned to Hermione. "I doubt they'd put you in with the regular seventh years. Not like you three couldn't cast circles around them. Odds are good for them doing alternate housing, especially if the castle takes awhile to recover."

"It would be hard to get back into that routine, especially when you've been out a year." Bill agreed. "Still, a touch of normalcy, even monotony might be good for you now, yeah?"

"S'right, you did those Gummy Gigglers George was on about." Bill recalled with a smile. "Some smart magic there. Bet once the shop reopens they'll be a huge hit." He was glad, for Ron and George's sake both, they'd been able to connect. He'd have to get over to visit George soon. He was likely the only sibling who hadn't.
